Tim Laird first came to The Food Project as the Beverly farm manager in the spring of 2008 and presently serves as the director of agriculture at The Food Project. In this role he wears many hats, including leading the farming operations at TFP’s Lincoln farm, overseeing budgets on all farms, and making sure TFP’s growers have the resources they need to be good stewards of the land. Tim’s farming career began at the New Alchemy Institute in Falmouth, Mass in 1987. He has worked on a wide variety of CSA (community-supported agriculture) farms and market gardens, including Intervale Community Farm in Burlington, Vt.; Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett, N.Y.; Drumlin Farm in Lincoln, Mass.; and Geraldson Community Farm in Bradenton, Fla. Tim holds a master’s degree in natural resource planning from the University of Vermont. When not working at the farm, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son outside in the shade.
